Upanayana - Sandhyavandana and Gayatrimantrajapa
The book addresses a decline in the understanding and practice of the Upanayana sacrament (the sacred thread ceremony) among the dvijas, particularly the Brahmana community. Many elders lack fundamental knowledge of the ritual's significance and fail to approach it with devotion. Consequently, they are unable to answer the questions of the younger generation or inspire interest in them. Even the priests, who are traditionally responsible for preserving these customs, often lack a deep understanding of the rituals they perform.
The book serves as a critique of the superficiality with which this tradition is currently maintained and calls for a deeper, more enlightened engagement with the practice.
