This book contains reminiscences by some of the memorable and highly revered second-generation monks of the Ramakrishna Order. These monks of the second generation were initiated and trained by the first generation, the direct disciples of Ramakrishna, and have given their reminiscences of them. Swamis Shraddhananda, Dhireshananda, and Mumukshananda recorded some of those reminiscences in their diaries, for which we shall be forever indebted. But for their habit of keeping a diary and their foresight, we would have been deprived of these priceless spiritual treasures, which are invaluable instructions on practical spiritual life.
