Samkhya Karika
The book Sāmkhya Kārikā, gives highlight of Sāmkhya's foundational role as one of India's six major philosophical systems (ṣaḍdarśana). It positions Sāmkhya as the essential "granite platform" upon which Vedanta is built, noting that while Vedanta seeks a singular Unity, Sāmkhya provides the dualistic framework of Prakṛti (Matter) and Puruṣa (Pure Consciousness).
Its concepts, such as the three guṇas and the cycle of Samsara, are integral to Vedanta, Ayurveda, and modern psychology. The book suggests Sāmkhya’s evolutionary theories predated and align with modern scientific thought. The book aims to help readers understand the universe and themselves, ultimately guiding the individual toward liberation from suffering.
