This book is a comprehensive English translation compiled after a positive reception to shorter excerpts previously published in the monthly journal,Prabuddha Bharata.It contains over half of the material from Shri Shri Mayer Katha, a two-volume Bengali text recorded by the direct disciples of the Holy Mother.

Shrimati Lila Majumdar translated the portions recorded by Swami Arupananda, Shrimati Sarayubala Devi, Pravrajika Bharatiprana, and a devotee. The remaining sections were translated by Swami Gambhirananda. Swami Nikhilananda contributed a biographical introduction, and alongside Swami Atmaghanananda, assisted in preparing the manuscript.
