I Point To India
Almost four decades ago, Sri Nanda Mookerjee compiled ten valuable essays written by the great German Indologist F. Max Müller between 1875 and 1900. This landmark collection was published asI Point to India: Selected Writings of Max Müller by Shakuntala Publishing House, Bombay.Originally published in the 1970s, the book helped Bengalis reconnect with their overlooked glorious past. However, because it wasn't mainstream entertainment, its popularity eventually faded. Recognizing that "our roots are deep," the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture is now reprinting the book. The goal is to revive Indian cultural sensibility and remind readers of the profound appreciation a foreign scholar had for India—achievements that many native citizens have overlooked.
