Holy Scriptures
This book explores the essential human need for spiritual fulfillment beyond physical sustenance. It argues that while food and sleep are necessary, the human mind and heart naturally yearn for a deeper understanding of the universe and self.
The book emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between philosophy and religion, stating they are not contradictory but "intimately interdependent." Philosophy provides the intellectual vision (the "head"), while religion provides the experiential practice (the "heart"). Without each other, they are described as "blind" or "lame."
Furthermore, it explains that while various faiths possess different scriptures, these are simply diverse expressions of the same "One Reality," tailored to different times and cultures. Despite superficial differences in exposition, their core purpose remains the same.
