Avadhuta Gita Of Dattatreya
The Avadhūta Gītā is a text of extreme Advaita (nondualism) attributed to Dattātreya—the son of Atri and Anasūyā—who renounced the world to attain ultimate liberation. An avadhūta is a liberated soul who has transcended all worldly attachments, cares, and conventional rules, existing beyond both attachment and detachment in realization of the infinite Self.Consisting of eight chapters in spirited Sanskrit verse, it avoids philosophical arguments, offering direct, bold statements on the ultimate oneness of reality (Brahman). High regard from figures like Swami Vivekananda led to this English translation by Swami Ashokananda.
