Ancient Sages
This book highlights that India’s identity is rooted in the wisdom and spiritual legacy of its ancient sages and rishis rather than military conquest. It emphasizes the importance of preserving this history to inspire current and future generations.
To achieve this, the book presents shortened stories of these seers. Most of the content was originally published in the monthly periodical Prabuddha Bharata between August 1997 and June 2003, with the story of Sage Durvasa added later. The publisher acknowledges William Page for editing, Alimpan Ghosh for illustrations, and references from the Puranic Encyclopaedia and the Encyclopaedia of Hinduism used for the glossary and genealogical tables.
