Adhyatma Ramayana
The Adhyatma Ramayana is a spiritual and philosophical retelling of the Rama Saga, distinct from Valmiki’s classical epic. While much shorter—comprising 3,643 verses compared to Valmiki’s 24,000—it shifts the focus from poetic narrative to profound theological discourse.
In this version, Rama is portrayed not just as an ideal man (Maryada Purushottama), but as the Supreme Brahman and the divine Incarnate. The text serves as a manual for daily devotion (Parayana), weaving together, Deep insights into Advaita Vedanta, Direct instructions on meditation and devotion, Hymns intended to bestow salvation.
Essentially, it holds the same significance for devotees of Rama as the Bhagavata Purana does for followers of Krishna.
